Hmm, I would call it "retro" music myself, but yes.
There really should be a section for that, as I really like 8-bit songs.
Especially most of the ones they have at "8-bit people.com"

I think there arent enough people who make chiptune on newgrounds. So they don't think it's necesary.. Any thoughts?

But chiptune music does rule :3 I want to make that

use the video game section in the meanwhile then

    Chiptune music isnt videogame music.
Listen to the stuff in the videogame category, its all rock remixes of the Zelda theme tune.

Oh shit weird, I got a load of chiptunes from here yesterday.
You should get MOST of them if you just search for "chip", but I agree they should have their own section.

    THAT PIXL CRUSHR GUY ROCKS.

These type of songs certainly don't fit in with just Video Game music. That's for shitty remixes of old VG songs. Chiptunes are completely different.

    "Videogame" has them all.

I think video game section is more for video game remixes. There should be section considering theres more of these than country or bluegrass.

I wish the Video Game section was dominated by ORIGINAL TRACKS THAT ARE SUITABLE FOR GAMES instead of all the SUPER MARIO DANCE REMIX shit that's in there now.

I do appreciate that there are Country and Bluegrass sections, by the way.

Its hard though, the music used in games varies wildly. Its better to class the music itself so we can find it.

I would actually bother browsing the audio portal if they had that.
